Avalanche signs Bordeleau

Patrick Bordeleau, 27, appeared in 46 of Colorado’s 48 games this past
season, recording five points (2g/3a) with 70 penalty minutes. The Montreal native led the Avalanche in hits
(116) and finished second in penalty minutes and major penalties (6).
“Patrick brings toughness and size to our lineup and is
well-liked in our dressing room,”
said Avalanche Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Joe Sakic. “We are
pleased he has committed to our team for the upcoming seasons.”
Bordeleau
made his NHL debut in the season opener at Minnesota on Jan. 19 and scored his
first NHL goal on April 11 at Los Angeles.
The 6-foot-6, 225-pound left winger spent the first half of the 2012-13
campaign with the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL), where he had seven points (2g/5a)
and 91 penalty minutes in 29 games.
Selected
by Minnesota in the fourth round (114th overall) of the 2004 Entry Draft,
Bordeleau signed an AHL contract with Lake Erie in 2009 prior to signing with
the Avalanche on July 1, 2011.
