Duchene's Olympic debut

On the third day of the Olympic Ice Hockey tournament we had three Colorado Avalanche players in action. Legend Sandis Ozolinsh played for Latvia against Czech Republic, Avs’ captain Gabriel Landeskog played with Sweden against Switzerland and Matt Duchene had his debut on Olympic Games against Austria.
Latvian team with his 41-years old captain Ozolinsh faced Czech Republic. Latvia played really well and was a decent opponent to Czech team, same as in Vancouver in 2010. The Czech national team beat Latvia 4:2.
Sandis Ozolinsh, former Avs defender didn’t score any point. His ice-time was 21 minutes and 20 seconds. He recorded 4 penalty minutes in the third period, when he started to play more aggressive.
Czech Republic - Latvia 4:2 (2:1, 2:1, 0:0)
A tough game for the lead in the C group was played by last year’s World Championship finalists Sweden against Switzerland. The game was really close all the time and the game winning goal was scored in the late third period by Daniel Alfredsson.
Gabriel Landeksog didn’t score, but he played really well. He was used by the coach at every game situation and he didn’t disappoint him. He played 19 minutes and 7 seconds, he recorded two shots on goal.
Sweden - Switzerland 1:0 (0:0, 0:0, 1:0)
Matt Duchene had his Olympic debut today. The Avs most productive player played in the second line on the wing with Ducks’s couple Getzlaf – Perry. Last Olympic Champions beat team Austria 6:0.
