Duchene is the Olympic Champion

Sunday was the day of the Olympics finals. Team Canada, the Olympic Champions from 2010 in Vancouver played against last year’s World Champions, Sweden. Also, it was a game between Avalanche players Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog.
The game started in high pace with scoring chances on both sides. Jonathan Toews scored his first goal on 2014 Olympic Games when he redirected the pass from Jeff Carter between the legs of Henrik Lundqvist. In the second period, Canada started to dominate on the ice. Late in the second period, Sidney Crosby scored a backhander goal from a breakaway. 2:0. In the third period, everyone expected a high pressure of Sweden, but the Canadian defense was 100% today. Halfway in the third, Chris Kunitz made it 3:0, he scored his first point on the Tournament.
Gabriel Landeskog won “only” the Silver medal. With the time, he will know how big success it was. In the Olympics finals, he played 11 minutes and 55 seconds and had 3 shots on the goal.
After the last horn, Matt Duchene had a really big smile on his face. As the youngest Canadian player, he spent on ice 7 minutes and 24 seconds. He recorded one shot on the goal. He was playing really well and helped his team to get a powerplay.
Sweden – Canada 0:3 (0:1, 0:1, 0:1)
