MacKinnon with an assist, Berra on benchEurolanche brings you the daily recap of everything important that happened at World Championships in Belarus involving Avalanche players.

In opening the games of the World Championships Nathan MacKinnon and Reto Berra were in action. Nathan MacKinnon made his debut for Senior Team Canada, Retto Berra was on the bench for Team Switzerland.

Motivated Russian Team had a great start into the game against Switzerland when scored an early goal from the first shot on the net. Russia scored two more in the 1st period and had a safe 3:0 lead. After this, the Russian team controlled the game and scored two more and won 5:0. Reto Berra was the substitute goalie.

Switzerland – Russa 0:5 (0:3, 0:1, 0:1)

In the second game of today, Team Canada faced the outsider from France. Nevertheless the fact Canada was supposed to dominate, the game was really close and decided in shootouts. The French National Team won the game in shootouts and made the first surprise of the Tournament.

The Avalanche Superstar Nathan MacKinnon played for Team Canada 17 minutes and 55 minutes. He played well as we are used from Colorado. He recorded 4 shots on the net and had a scoring opportunity. „Mack“ recorded one assist and has a +1 in the +/- rating.

France – Canada 3:2 SO (1:1, 0:0, 1:1, 0:0, 1:0)
