Roman Will: My Day 1 at the camp

Roman Will: My Day 1 at the campEurolanche brings you exclusive diary of Roman Will who is on the Colorado Avalanche roster for the rookie training camp.

Roman Will experienced his first day at the Colorado Avalanche rookie camp in the official team's facility in Family Sports Center. It was great memorable moment for young Czech goalie. „We moved to the new hotel on Saturday where we all stay together. We have a meeting in the evening – we filled some documents. Patrick Roy talked to us about a new age and a run for the Stanley Cup in the next seasons,“ said Will to Eurolanche.

Roman Will was interviewed at the end of Day 1.

The Sunday was a day full of various tests. All players went thru medical exams including specialists for a vision and even dentists – they will prepare mouthguard for each player that is another evidence about the level of professionalism in the league.

On Monday, 28 rookies finally went on the ice. „We traveled with mini vans to the rink after we got breakfast. We started with goalie drills and other players joined us after 15 minutes. It was a classic practice with training plays like 1 on 1 etc,“ said Will who could see a big difference between the NHL camp and a camp back in his homecountry. „It was all on high level on day 1. Players did what coaches requested. Every player fights for a sport and for his name,“ concluded Will.
