Roman Will: My Day 2 at the Camp

Roman Will: My Day 2 at the CampEurolanche brings you exclusive diary of Roman Will who is on the Colorado Avalanche roster for the rookie training camp.

Roman Will took a part also on Day 2 of the Colorado Avalanche rookie camp yesterday. He was really tired at the end because every member of the squad worked extremely hard. „We did the same practices like previous day, but at the end we skated a lot around whole rink and it was really hard. Additionally, I am still adapting on high altitude,“ said Will who feels the altitude difference while he is breathing and he also gets tired faster than in Europe.

Yesterday, Patrick Roy's assistant coaches were on the ice too, but didn't talk to the players individually. There were also some technical problems at the start. „There was a problem with ice refrigerator system, so we had to skip the goalie practice, but it will be back in the schedule on the next day,“ said Will who noticed some Avalanche fans in the stands. „It is very nice that they are watching us. I think that if some junior camp was organised in Europe, only die-hard fans would come,“ said Czech goalie.

Roman thinks that the players who participated at the rookie camp in the past act as leaders – but only 10 of 28 players have this experience. Camp isn't only about them, but also about pure rookies like Will is. He already knows what does mean the media interest when he was interviewed by team's official website like one of few players. „It makes me very happy when I could read a story and watch a video on the website. My parents read it immediately,“ concluded Will who added that the overall atmosphere at the camp is fantastic and all players feel good.
