Canadiens Top Avalanche in OT

Alex Galchenyuk scored 3:28 into overtime to give the Montreal Canadiens a 3-2 preseason win against the Colorado Avalanche at Bell Centre on Friday.
Montreal's P.K. Subban had a goal and two assists, including a tying goal with 2:18 remaining in the second period.
Tyson Barrie gave Colorado a 1-0 lead 12:59 into the first period after he received a pass from Nathan MacKinnon, who finished with two assists, and fired a shot into the top left corner of the cage. Max Pacioretty scored for Montreal to tie the game 8:07 into the second before Gabriel Landeskog put Colorado back in the lead at 10:18.
Montreal finished 2 of 6 on the power play while Colorado went scoreless on its three man-advantage opportunities.
Canadiens goalie Carey Price allowed two goals on 10 shots. Peter Budaj stopped all 17 shots he faced in relief.
Reto Berra made 33 saves in net for the Avalanche in what was his second start of the preseason.
The Avs and Canadiens meet again on Friday night as the clubs play in Quebec City to close out their preseason series. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. MT.
