Invasion VIII: Interview with Jozef
Eurolanche Invasion VIII will be organized between February 24 and March 10. A record number of 12 members from 5 countries will travel to Denver. Eurolanche.com will introduce each member in the interviews.Eurolanche Invasion VIII will be a unique trip in many ways. The overall number of participants speaks for itself. A highlight of the Fan Club’s eighth trip to Colorado will be visits to two outdoor games – Stadium Series game between Colorado Avalanche and Detroit Red Wings and Alumni Game between veterans and All-Star players of both teams. In total, 12 members will visit seven Avalanche games. Besides unforgettable meetings with the players and other people around the Avs hockey, the schedule will include many trips and activities in Colorado and also out of the State, like for example a trip to Las Vegas.

Jozef Illes, 32, was born in city of Vranov nad Toplou in Slovakia. He has been a long time Avalanche fan. It will be his first Invasion, but he was already in the USA twice. He studied economics and works as a businessman for more than six years.
When did you become the Avalanche fan?
I am the Avs fan from the establishing of this club in 1995 and I am interested in NHL hockey more than 20 years.
What is your greatest memory on the Avs hockey?
Of course that it is winning of both Stanley Cups. First one was after memorable game against Florida in the 3rd overtime (I almost missed my school lesson because of that). The second Cup was maybe even better because to see so emotional Ray Bourque was unbelievable. I will remember that moment forever!
How long have you been in the Eurolanche Fan Club and what do you think about this organization?
I am part of Eurolanche just couple years but I really like it. I am so proud that this organization exists and has so many great members. I hope that it will be growing each year and improving its activity. The best are Invasions of course, I think all fans from other NHL teams have to envy it.
Why did you decide to join the Eurolanche Invasion VIII?
It is my dream for long time to see live Avs game. I have seen already two NHL games in person but never Colorado Avalanche. I knew that I will be part of the Invasion one day, I just didn´t know when. I wanted to go on last Invasion but it was not happened at the end. When I found out that this trip will include also Stadium Series Game against Detroit, I decided that I have to go for sure.
Did you follow the past Eurolanche Invasions?
I was reading all articles in the European Pro Hockey magazine about it and some articles on the internet on different websites. I have seen also a lot of pictures from these Invasions, especially from last one and I was really impressed.
What do you expect from the Eurolanche Invasion VIII? What are you looking forward most on?
I am expecting a lot but I think it will be even better. I am sure that I will be meeting a lot of new people, visiting some interesting places and having just great time. Certainly, I hope we will see good games with Avs victory at the end. I am looking forward to meeting with players and with coach Patrick Roy, who was my the most favorite player when he played. The most I am excited about is to watch Alumni Game because to see all those legends from both teams back on the ice would be perfect and memorable for sure. I just cannot to wait for that.
