Eurolanche.com will introduce each member in the interviews.Eurolanche Invasion VIII will be a unique trip in many ways. The overall number of participants speaks for itself. A highlight of the Fan Club’s eighth trip to Colorado will be visits to two outdoor games – Stadium Series game between Colorado Avalanche and Detroit Red Wings and Alumni Game between veterans and All-Star players of both teams. In total, 12 members will visit seven Avalanche games. Besides unforgettable meetings with the players and other people around the Avs hockey, the schedule will include many trips and activities in Colorado and also out of the State, like for example a trip to Las Vegas.
Do not miss:
Alexander Mader, 39, lives near Bern, Switzerland. He became an Avs Fan in 1995 when the franchise was relocated from Quebec to Denver. It will be his first Invasion; but the 5th time that he will visit Denver and see some Avs Hockey. He works as a Webmaster for a Hearing Aid manufacturer in Switzerland.
When did you become an Avalanche fan?
In 1995. I was a big fan of „Zar“ Valeri Kamensky, when he was playing for HC Ambri-Piotta during the 1994 lockout. And when he was back with the Avs it was obvious that I wanted to be a supporter of this team. In fact I saw one of the first games ever that the Avs were playing under their new name (number 6 to be precise, a preseason game in Toronto on September 27th 1995). And never looked back afterwards…
What is your greatest memory on the Avs hockey?
Meeting Joe Sakic and Ray Bourque in 2000 was a pretty amazing memory. And of course, watching both games of the Stanley Cup Finals 1995/96 and 2000/01 at home.
How long have you been in the Eurolanche Fan Club and what do you think about this organization?
I’ve joined the Eurolanche Fan Club in 2014. I really like their reports and their background information about the Avalanche. And now I’m looking forward to Invasion VIII of course!
Why did you decide to join the Eurolanche Invasion VIII?
I saw a lot of NHL hockey in the past, but one thing that is missing is an Outdoor Game. What better idea than to watch such a game with other Avs Fans! And even better against our archrival the Red Wings.
What do you expect from the Eurolanche Invasion VIII? What are you looking forward most on?
I expect that we have a good time in Denver and I’m really looking forward to the Outdoor Game and the Alumni Game the day before. Also looking forward to go on a snowmobile tour again!
