Berra stays with the Avs

Couple of days ago, one rumor involved a name of the Colorado Avalanche goalie Reto Berra. According to the rumor, some teams from Swiss league and mainly HC Lugano organization have serious interest in Berra’s service and would like to sign him. Knowing Berra’s history in the Avalanche jersey and especially very hard past season, it wouldn’t be shocking.

Eurolanche.com talked with Berra’s player agent Andre Rufener. „It is not true, it just a rumor,“ said Mr. Rufener in a brief call on Wednesday. „Reto will work hard in the summer and visit the training camp in September. He will fight for the spot,“ informed Rufener.

There’s left one year in Berra’s contract worth of $1,450,000 annually. Besides him, there are the following goalies in the Avalanche organization: Semyon Varlamov, Calvin Pickard, Spencer Martin, Max Pajpach (unsigned prospect) and Sami Aittokallio (likely not resigned by this summer).
