Invasion IX: Interview with Peter
Eurolanche Invasion IX starts in January. 10 Fan Club members from 4 countries will travel to the US. We're introducing member by member in these inteviews.Peter Nemec, 26, was born in Nitra, Slovakia. He became an Avalanche fan when the team won their second Stanley Cup in 2001 and has been a Eurolanche member since 2012. He works at the quality department in an Italian company. This will be his first trip to Denver.
Why did you decide to travel to Colorado?
It’s a big dream of mine to attend a hockey game of my most favorite sports team. Meeting with players, generous program even during non-hockey days, exploring different places in and around Denver, a trip to the West Coast, those are the reasons why I decided to take part in Invasion IX.
What are you most excited about?
Mostly, I am excited about the Avalanche games, especially the first one in the Pepsi Center will be something special for me. I am also really looking forward to experiencing American culture and their way of life.
What are your expectations from the trip in general?
First of all, I want to enjoy the best hockey in the world. To experience something new, to experience unforgettable memories and to see as much as many Avalanche wins as possible.
Have you followed previous Invasions? If yes, what attracted your attention?
I followed the previous two Invasions (VII and VIII). I would like to meet Avalanche players in person, which I really hope will happen. I envy the trip to Last Vegas during Invasion VIII, but I think that our trips to LA and San Francisco will be interesting, too.
How long have you been a Eurolanche member and what do you think about Eurolanche?
I’ve been a Eurolanche member for 4 years. I think it’s a unique fan club. Not only because of their coverage of the Avalanche, but also because they bring fans together and organize fan-meetings, organize trips to Denver and much more. Before I found Eurolanche, I thought seeing Avalanche hockey live was impossible. Thanks to Eurolanche, I will fulfill my dream.
How do you like the organization and preparations for Invasion IX so far?
Everything went smoothly thanks to perfect organization. During the Fan Club meeting in August, I met all the participants of Invasion IX. The group is looking great and I can’t wait for the trip!
