Holos with two pointsEurolanche brings you the daily recap of everything important that happened at the World Championship in Belarus involving Avalanche players.

Only defensemen Jonas Holos and Markus Lauridsen played today, as forward Nathan MacKinnon and Swiss goalie Reto Berra both had a day off. Holos and Lauridsen squared off against one another as Norway played against Denmark. Four games were already played, one with a surprising outcome. Two games are yet to be played.

Team Norway was more active in the shot department, outshooting the Danes 27:18, which ultimately helped them to 3 points. The Norwegians, along with Jonas Holos, defeated Denmark 4:3. The Danes opened the scoring, as Morten Poulsen and Frederik Storm scored 2 unanswered goals in the opening period and had a 2-0 lead 3 minutes into the game. Jonas Holos got one back after he beat Simon Nielsen with a bomb from the point on the man advantage.

Norway tied the game in the second, the tying goal coming once again on the power-play. The Norwegians got their first lead of the game after Per-Age Skroder converted his penalty shot. Team Norway secured their lead with their fourth goal, Holos getting an assist on the tally. The Danes scored a power-play goal in the final minutes of the game, but couldn’t tie it up.
