Invasion VIII: Interview with Tomas

Invasion VIII: Interview with TomasEurolanche Invasion VIII will be organized between February 24 and March 10. A record number of 12 members from 5 countries will travel to Denver. Eurolanche.com will introduce each member in the interviews.

Eurolanche Invasion VIII will be a unique trip in many ways. The overall number of participants speaks for itself. A highlight of the Fan Club’s eighth trip to Colorado will be visits to two outdoor games – Stadium Series game between Colorado Avalanche and Detroit Red Wings and Alumni Game between veterans and All-Star players of both teams. In total, 12 members will visit seven Avalanche games. Besides unforgettable meetings with the players and other people around the Avs hockey, the schedule will include many trips and activities in Colorado and also out of the State, like for example a trip to Las Vegas.

Do not miss:

Tomas Vnuk, 30, was born in Zilina, Slovakia and it will be his second Invasion after he participated in the previous one. He has been the Avalanche fans since a memorable Uwe Krupp’s goal in 1996. He spent one-year studying at a high school in USA in the past. He now runs a solarium studio in his hometown.

Why did you decide to come back to Denver for the second time?

Last Invasion was unbelievable moment. Great group of people. It was well-organized, really good. We spent three weeks there full of cheering in the stands of Pepsi Center and travelling around. I believed the famous mountains in Slovakia are the nicest in the world, but I have to say Rocky Mountains are great competition – whole Colorado nature in general is very nice.

Aren’t you afraid you will experience the same?

Definitely not. We will be a group of new people. I think it will be the best Invasion in the history and I am really looking forward on it.

What do you expect of the Eurolanche Invasion VIII and what are you looking forward most on?

I am looking forward on the indescribable atmosphere of the NHL; Stadium Series Game and the American cuisine of course. I can’t wait on a trip to Las Vegas. I hope I won’t wake up with a tiger lying next to me and with a baby in the same room :).

What is your greatest memory or experience of the past Invasion that you were a part?

Meeting with Marian Hossa. This story had continued long months after end of the Invasion. At the end I was at Hossa’s family home in Slovakia with the Stanley Cup; Marian was eating in the kitchen. What else could a hockey fan wish?

Can you imagine you would be back in Denver again?

It is hard to say now, but as we used to say – never say never.

What would you tell to the fans that aren’t sure about their possible participation?

It is unbelievable experience, but at the other side you have to realize it is not a classic vacation, but three weeks full of action, busy schedule, trips and it also costs something.
