Invasion VIII: Interview with Robert
Eurolanche Invasion VIII will be organized between February 24 and March 10. A record number of 12 members from 5 countries will travel to Denver. Eurolanche.com will introduce each member in the interviews.Eurolanche Invasion VIII will be a unique trip in many ways. The overall number of participants speaks for itself. A highlight of the Fan Club’s eighth trip to Colorado will be visits to two outdoor games – Stadium Series game between Colorado Avalanche and Detroit Red Wings and Alumni Game between veterans and All-Star players of both teams. In total, 12 members will visit seven Avalanche games. Besides unforgettable meetings with the players and other people around the Avs hockey, the schedule will include many trips and activities in Colorado and also out of the State, like for example a trip to Las Vegas.

Robert Heppekausen, 36, lives near Cologne, Germany and is an Avs-Fan since the late 90’s. He’s an Eurolanche member since 2011 and will take part in his first Invasion. He works in IT and also does live radio commentary for the Cologne Sharks, one of the biggest European hockey clubs.
When did you become the Avalanche fan?
I can’t tell exactly anymore but it has to be since the late 90’s when Uwe Krupp was still with the Avalanche and was in my focus as a German player.
What is your greatest memory on the Avs hockey?
That surely is my first real Avs game at the New York Islanders in the 2008/09 season. It was the game of the worst two teams in the NHL back then but I will never forget to finally being able to watch all those players live that I only knew from TV.
How long have you been in the Eurolanche Fan Club and what do you think about this organization?
I’m an Eurolanche member since 2011 and really do think that this is a great opportunity for every European Avalanche-fan to inform themselves and also get to know other fans. The possibility to be part of the Invasions is pretty unique and I’m happy to be part of the next one.
Why did you decide to join the Eurolanche Invasion VIII?
I always said to myself that I will go to Denver at the latest when there’s an outdoor game so the Stadium Series Game is one of the biggest reasons. To take the whole trip as a part of a group of people where some of them already have been to Denver already and know their way around is another big plus and makes things very easy.
Did you follow the past Eurolanche Invasions?
Yes, I looked up the diaries of the last two Invasions regularly.
What do you expect from the Eurolanche Invasion VIII? What are you looking forward most on?
I just want to have a good time in Denver, watch lots of hockey and hopefully a lot of Avalanche wins too. The Stadium Series Game will be a highlight for sure as well as the Alumni Game and my first home games as an Avalanche fan.
