Invasion IX: Interview with Barnabas
Eurolanche Invasion IX starts in January. 10 Fan Club members from 4 countries will travel to the US. We're introducing member by member in these inteviews.Barnabás Palotai, 25, comes from Budapest, Hungary, where he works for the Hungarian Justice Academy as a education coordinator. He has been an Avalanche fan for 15 years and Eurolanche Invasion IX will be his first one. He will become the first Hungarian fan ever participating in the Invasion project.
Why did you decide to travel to Colorado?
I’ve always wanted to see the Avs live and going to Colorado was on the top of my bucket list. So now that it became possible, I applied immediately to participate in the next Invasion.
What are you looking forward to the most?
First of all, to watch the team playing at the Pepsi Center. Also, I can’t wait to meet the players (and possible the executives) too, and I’m really looking forward to exploring the Rocky Mountains and California. I’ve never been to the US before, so I’d like to experience as much as I can.
What are your expectations from this trip in general?
It would be awesome to catch the Avs on a winning streak. I’d really like the team to win as many games as possible during our stay. I’m pretty sure that we will have tons of fun there, travel a lot and make great trips in Colorado. I feel that these two weeks will be one of my greatest experiences of all time.
Did you follow past Invasions? If so, what stood out for you the most? What would you like to experience?
Yes, I did and I was kind of jealous when the participants had the opportunity to meet the players, coaches, executives, to appear on local/national TV and to travel across the USA. But now, I just can’t wait for the trip to begin and to take part in these activities.
How long have you been registered in the Fan Club and what do you think about it?
I don’t remember the exact date when I registered, but I’ve been following it since the beginning, because it’s been a great source of interviews and news about the Avalanche.
How do you like the organizational process of Invasion IX so far?
I have to say that the main organizer is handling the whole process perfectly. He keeps us informed all the time and tries to look for the best options for all of us, including flight tickets, accommodation, game tickets, etc. He is always there when somebody needs help.
