Invasion IX: Interview with Marko
Eurolanche Invasion IX starts in January. 10 Fan Club members from 4 countries will travel to the US. We're introducing member by member in these inteviews.Marko Keipi, 28, comes from Finland, but he currently lives in Prague, Czech Republic. He is a professional poker player and has been following Avalanche hockey since 2001. This will be his first Invasion and first trip to Denver. He will become the first Finnish fan ever participating in the Invasion project.
Why did you decide to travel to Colorado?
It's been my dream ever since I became a Colorado Avalanche fan. I've been a pretty passionate fan for over 15 years, but I never had the chance to go to Denver and watch Colorado play live. You only have one life and in that time, you have to make your dreams come true.
What are you looking forward to the most?
Seeing Denver, Colorado. Watching Avalanche games live. Outside activities, trying US beers, local food, and the trips to San Francisco and Los Angeles trips as well. In general, I'm just very excited about the whole trip, meeting new people, chatting with them. There's too many things to put on one list. I would say just being in the US generally will be amazing experience!
What are you expectations from this trip in general?
An once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Did you follow past Invasions? If so, what stood out for you the most? What would you like to experience?
I didn't really follow the past Invasions.
How long have you been registered in the Fan Club and what do you think about it?
I’ve just signed up.
How do you like the organizational process of Invasion IX so far?
Very professional. I didn't know the guys running this thing would be so professional, it's like their second job. Their level of dedication is crazy. I love it! I thought I was a hockey fan, but it really amazes me to see someone who is so passionate about the Colorado Avalanche that they spent most of their time running this thing. It's very inspirational!
