Invasion VI: Interview with Norbert

Invasion VI: Interview with NorbertEurolanche introduces six members who will travel to Denver, Colorado next week.

Eurolanche introduces the members of the sixth trip of Avs fans to Denver, Colorado. Eurolanche Invasion VI starts next week, on December 27th. Six Eurolanche members from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Austria will spend 14 days in Denver. The trip will be 17 days long in case of difficult traveling from Europe. Their schedule includes seven Colorado Avalanche home games, meetings with players, trips, and many other activities.

Norbert Gruber is 30 years old and has been an Avs-fan since the franchise move from Quebec to Denver in 1995. He originally comes from a small village in the eastern part of Austria called Hornstein but has lived in Vienna for more than 5 years now. Norbert works in the financial industry as a consultant for one of the big international consulting companies. His hobbies are having work outs in the fitness center, listening to house music and of course watching ice hockey. It will be the fourth trip for Norbert to Denver. Within Eurolanche, he is responsible for the administration regarding the European German speaking countries.

Why did you decide to travel to Colorado?

Having already experienced three invasions in Denver, I definitely knew that I wanted to go to Denver soon again. All three trips where full of fun and great experiences with Eurolanche fans combinedwith great hockey. After three times, I already built up friendships with people from Denver, so it is also great to see these guys.

It will be your fourth trip there. What are your expectations?

My expectations in general are that my fourth Invasion will be at least as much fun as my third trip. Eurolanche grew a lot over that time and the organization of Invasion IV was already very professional and great, so I expect a well organised trip to Colorado with lots of hockey and great evenings with fan club members and friends.

Don´t you think it will be kind of stereotype for you?

No, I am convinced that it will be not stereotypical for me. Every trip includes new games, new results, new experiences and possible new friendships. And, it is always great to see other fan club members, which usually happens only once or twice a year.

What are you looking forward to most?

Seeing some good friends from Europe and America again and enjoying the time with some good hockey, funny evenings and interesting experiences.

What is your preparation process for the trip?

Eurolanche Invasions are organized very professionally. So, there is not a lot of preparation necessary. But, I definitely plan together with other participants those things we will do in Denver. So, making a rough schedule and packing the suitcase is definitely on my check list.

What would you say to fans who haven´t decided yet about their participation in future trips?

You definitely have to join an Invasion in the future because it is so much fun. It is always such a great time together with European friends, watching hockey in the Pepsi Center live. And having player meetings afterwards is definitely something you will never forget.
